What Father I Know?

What father I know, I see an empty face
Dancing round and round in my head
What father I know? Your name has been replaced
We never want to see you again

What father I know, when did I go wrong?
When did you ever yield the time to hold on?
What father I know, you’ll never hear this song
Who understands the reasons why we hold on?
What father I know, whenever something’s wrong
You had to take the low way out

What father I know, a fool set in his ways
I'd cost you lots of money I guess
What father I know, if ambivalence paid
You’d win that pot of money again

What father I know, when did I go wrong?
When did you ever yield the time to hold on?
What father I know, you’ll never hear this song
Who understands the reasons why we hold on?
What father I know, whenever something’s wrong
You had to take the low way out

I’m getting tired of waiting and I’m getting kind of tired of your lies
You’ll never take control. That vice like grip can't take any hold
I'll live just to get one last chance to defy you
And see you fall over and over and over again

What father I know, when did I go wrong?
When did you ever yield the time to hold on?
What father I know, you’ll never hear this song
Who understands the reasons why we hold on?
What father I know, whenever something’s wrong
You had to take the low way out
